Reflecting over the last two decades of Thanksgiving dinners, there have been some pretty memorable moments. AS you have probably gathered, I’m kind of a “the-more-the-merrier-gal” ! The faces around the table vary every year. There’s been family from near and far. Friends, both old and new, and the occasional stranger thrown in the mix just to make things interesting. People are never strangers for long…I love that. Last year we’d just been in our new home for a few months and we were close to several girls from our “dance family” in Smithers, so we had a gathering of Creative Roots Alumni. As far as Thanksgivings go…it was kind of epic. We baked, did tacky turkey crafts, picked pumpkins from a pumpkin patch, got lost in a corn maze and ate and ate and ate!

Of course we have a few food traditions, always a turkey. Definitely home made…

that perfect hand...

In Ocean's 11, Danny said that "the house always wins. If you play long enough, never change the stakes, then the house takes you. Unless, when that perfect hand comes along, you bet big... and then, you take the house." Here's the hand I've been dealt, sometimes it's risky and sometimes it's safe, but all the time... it's perfect. It's mine.
